ELDER

John’s story of faith was a long and vacillating journey until the gripping LOVE of Jesus took a stronghold of his weary heart in his late 40s.  Since then, the reality of the Gospel has been filled with tears of joy and thankfulness each day.  

John grew up in Los Angeles and had lived all across the U.S. (Baltimore, St. Louis, D.C., and last in Vermont) until he moved to San Diego over 20 years ago.  He has worked in various settings from healthcare to being a small business owner and most recently enjoying the engineering start up world.  Early on in San Diego, John was extensively involved with a local church plant so when the opportunity to plant Trinity arose, John and his family were eager to build community and long-term friendships through living life together.  He has served previously as a Deacon and has enjoyed the times on the Childrens, Operations, and Shepherding Teams.  The role of Elder for John has been incredibly humbling and has deepened his reliance and surrender to God for which he is forever grateful. 

John is married to Judy.  They first met on the 4th of July and the fireworks in John’s heart continue to this day.  They have one son and a set of twin girls.  John loves spending time outdoors - camping, biking, hiking, the beach, sports, and road trips.  He also enjoys discovering new dessert spots, playing board games, and being in God’s Creation with the family.
